On 15 August 2026, Akhilesh Das Gupta School celebrated the 80th Independence Day of India with great pride and patriotic fervor. The celebration commenced with the flag-hoisting ceremony by the Principal, Ms. Anjana Swami, followed by the National Song and the National Anthem.The programme began with a patriotic Hindi poem, followed by a melodious patriotic song and an inspiring English speech highlighting the significance of Independence Day and the values of freedom, unity and patriotism.The celebration continued with an impressive pyramid display, where students showcased their strength, coordination and teamwork through different formations. The Foundation Group presented a vibrant cultural performance showcasing various traditional dance forms from different states of India, celebrating the country’s rich cultural heritage and the spirit of unity in diversity.This was followed by a melodious English song performed by the students of Grades 1 and 2. Principal Ms Anjana Swami then addressed the gathering with an inspiring speech on the occasion of Independence Day, emphasising the importance of patriotism, responsibility and contributing positively to the nation.The students then presented a thought-provoking skit titled “Women – The Pride of India”, celebrating the strength, achievements and contributions of Indian women. The event concluded on a high note with an energetic and captivating dance performance by the students of Grades 3 to 8, bringing the Independence Day celebrations to a memorable close.
